Kenneth Wayne Davis (Ken)
Born: August 6, 1934
At Rest: October 9, 2022
Ken was born in Campbell, Missouri to parents, George and Eunice Davis. His early years were spent in Missouri and Arkansas. The family moved to Lampoc, California where Ken was educated from age 10 through his high school graduation in 1954.
He went on to Linfield College in Oregon, where he met his first wife, Marianne. Ken was drafted during the Korean war and served two years in the Navy. He then returned to Linfield College where he graduated in Business Administration. Ken and Marianne raised two sons, Randal and Brent. Ken was employed by Seattle School District in purchasing, later to become Director of Purchasing for the North Thurston School District until he retired. After Marianne passed away in 2011, Ken moved from Puyallup to Sequim where he was to meet and marry Jean Lortz. When they met, Ken was working toward finishing a log home. A man of much enjoyment in wood working through his retirement years, he built, created and also became an adept carver, specializing in birds. However, the legacy he left was leading a toy making ministry with a group of men at Puyallup UMC. Together they built quality wooden toys for children who would be without at Christmas in the Tacoma area.
Outdoor hobbies were also big for Ken. He loved sailing and built his own first boat. Later, he saw much of the country through RV trips and especially enjoyed a group of RV friends he traveled with. Ken played Gospel and Country Western music on his guitar daily. He enjoyed traveling the Peninsula and surrounding areas, a cruise in Alaska and a trip to Scotland. Lastly, hallelujah, the most exciting adventure of all…into the arms of Jesus!
