Robert Raymond Duncan

July 2, 1956 – November 27, 2015

Robert Raymond Duncan came into the world July 2, 1956, the youngest child of Dr. William and Elene Duncan of Seattle, Washington.

In 1961 Bob and his family moved to Sequim. He graduated from Sequim High School in 1974.

Bob’s passion was to fly and his dream to fly for Alaska Airlines was realized in December of 1983, not long after he had married Mary Jane Dow of Palm Desert, California. They moved to

Seattle shortly after.

It has been an incredible ride being with Bob for

nearly 34 years. From living on a boat, settling in Sequim, raising a family, relocating to Alaska for a time, and going on incredible mission trips where we built houses, served in orphanages and served the Lord. Bob went on to earn three patents and recently won an award in London for his survival suit.

Bob’s commitment to his wife and children was incredible! He served the Lord with passion and compassion. He flew 32 years with Alaska Airlines and absolutely loved to fly for a company that he felt had a commitment to their employees and community at large.

Bob was happiest when he was surrounded by his family and friends, when he was golfing (with Dave, Steve or Danika), sailing or working/living on a boat, flying, watching his Seahawks, eating key lime pie, inventing, mowing the lawn with his Bad Boy, deep frying turkeys for the holidays, learning German, giving hugs, serving on mission trips, learning about people, attending NFL stadiums, doing commercials for Alaska Air with Russel Wilson, drinking the first pint of Guinness each time he visited Ireland, letting David drive the golf cart…spending time with God!

We will miss his incredible sense of humor, inventive mind, passion for living, his unconditional love for his kids (even those that weren’t his own), wisdom, honesty, and his capacity to listen.

He is survived by his wife Mary Jane; his five kids Carl, Alastair, Danika, Clara and William; his mother Elene; sisters Dr. Adah Duncan and Carolyn Rice; and brother Tom Duncan.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Clallam Mosaic, with checks designated to the Mosaic House (a center for teaching the adult handicapped) at P.O. Box 3081 Sequim, WA 98382.

A special thank you to so many in the community that have been there to help and support Bob’s family. Please keep us in your prayers.

He will be deeply missed.
