Violet Lavern Van Nest-Brown
July 23, 1928 – May 25, 2015
Violet Lavern Van Nest married Frank Glenn Arthur Jr. on June 29, 1947; and to this marriage were born four children – who were also known as the four D’s.
Following her divorce, Violet met the love of her life, Burl Wilson Brown and they were married on September 9, 1972 in Palos Verdes, California.
Violet’s main delights in life were serving the Lord as the head greeter at the Eastern Hills Community Church. She also enjoyed growing and selling flowers and vegetables at Sequim Farmer’s Market and at Farmer Brown’s stand located at their home on Thornton Drive.
Violet also enjoyed crocheting tea towels, reading, gardening, nature, birds, and cultivating and encouraging family members and friends.
Her nurturing nature could be seen in her work as she trained people in the computer/data processing department at Olympic Medical Center for over 20 years.
Violet is survived by her brother Lester Van Nest; her children Diana Arthur Hale of Grants Pass. Oregon, Donald Glenn Arthur of Port Angeles, Washington, Donna Marie Wige of Gresham, Oregon, and Debbie Lynn DeVusser of Hickory, North Carolina; her step-children Gary Brown of San Diego, California, Steve Brown of Alva, Oklahoma and Marlena Brown ????of Charlotte, North Carolina.
