Baseball: Sequim squad falls to NK in season finale

Sequim’s baseball squad capped their 2022 season with an 0-3 week last week, nearly knocking off 4A Mariner on May 3.

To start the week, Port Angeles took advantage of six walks and six errors in a 14-1, five-inning match-up at Sequim on May 2.

Elijah Floodstrom was 3-for-4 with a double, triple, four RBIs and three runs scored, while Ezra Townsend and Beckett Jarnigan had two hits each.

Connor Bear, who took the loss on the mound, had Sequim’s only hit, an RBI double in the third inning that scored Ayden Holland.

A day later, Sequim fell 5-1 at Mariner High in Everett.

Sequim concluded the season with a 24-3 loss at league powerhouse North Kitsap.

Bear had two hits and a walk in the loss while Holland, Zac McCracken and Braiden White each had RBIs in a three-run third inning.

Colton Bower, Jaxon Gore and Kenneth Johnson each had three hits for North Kitsap, who took advantage of seven SHS errors.
