Sequim’s bats ran into some tough pitching in a pair of Olympic League losses last week.
Seamus Gallagher-Kennedy made himself at home on Sequim High School’s pitching mound, holding the Wolves to no runs and one hit in seven innings in a 10-0 Kingston win on March 30.
The Wolves (0-6 in league play, 0-8 overall) reached base just three times — a Conor Bear single, a Ricky Jennings walk and Ayden Holland hit by pitch — against the Buccaneer senior.
Bear started for the Wolves, giving up five runs — just one earned — over four innings, striking out seven and walking three.
Peau Tameilau went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs to lead Kingston.
The Wolves struggled in the field, committing nine errors on a windy afternoon.
A day later, Olympic hurlers Antonio Castorena and Landon Cartwright combined to hold Sequim to just three hits in a 7-1 Trojan win in Silverdale.
Bear, Holland and Isaac Moore had Sequim’s hits. Moore walked twice and scored a run.
Sequim’s Jaxson Gray struck out four for Sequim on the mound, while Toppy Robideaux pitched an inning for scoreless relief, striking out two.
