It took extra innings, but Sequim’s winless streak is over.
The Wolves erupted for three runs in the top of the eighth inning to break up a 1-1 tie and earn a 4-1 win over host Granite Falls in a non-league game on April 9.
Ricky Jennings picked up a tough no decision after tossing six strong innings, spreading out seven hits and a walk for Sequim (0-6 in Olympic League play, 1-9 overall).
Zac McCracken earned the win in relief with a scoreless seventh, while Connor Bear earned Sequim’s first save of the season with a three-strikeout, scoreless bottom of the eighth.
Ayden Holland was 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs from the leadoff spot, while Bear was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Jaxson Gray added two singles and drove in a run. Brayden White also had two of Sequim’s 11 hit attack.
Sequim was scheduled to play at Port Angeles on April 11; results were not available at press time. The Wolves are at Bainbridge on April 14 and host Crosspoint Academy in a non-league game on April 15.
