Elise Beuke, a 2015 Sequim High School graduate and freshman at the University of Washington, helped her four-woman squad take first in the Women’s Collegiate/Open 4+ division at the Head of the Lake Regatta on Nov. 8.
Beuke, 18, joined Danielle Hansen, Anna Porteous and Julia Paulsen (with coxswain Samantha Storey) in winning the division by less than three seconds over a second UW team.
The Huskies swept the top three spots, with Oregon in fourth and the University of Portland in fifth and sixth.
Olympic Peninsula Rowing Association’s entry in the Women’s Junior Double took third overall. Their team consists of Olivia Bay, 13, in the bow seat, and Hannah Officer, 17, in the stroke seat.
Several Masters Rowers from Port Townsend also took part in the regatta.
Crews from Alaska, Colorado, British Columbia, Massachusetts, Oregon, Minnesota, Rhode Island, California, Utah and Illinois took part in the competition.
