Beuke rows to win at NW Regional Championships

Sequim’s Elise Beuke is headed to nationals.

The Sequim High School senior and member of the Olympic Peninsula Rowing Association team took top honors in the Women’s Varsity Single division at the USRowing Northwest Youth Regional Championships on Vancouver Lake in Vancouver, Wash., May 15-17. Beuke won the event by about 17 seconds over Georgia Gray of Seattle Rowing Club. With the top finish, Beuke advances to the USRowing National Championships, slated for June 12-14 in Bradenton, Fla.

Joining her with top-three finishes in Vancouver were Olympic Peninsula Rowing Association teammates Eric Prosser and Hannah Officer.

Prosser, of Sequim, took third in the Men’s Novice Single division while Officer, of Port Angeles, won gold in the Women’s Novice Single division.
