Ten athletes from the Bodystrong Tae Kwon-Do Academy in Sequim participated in a tae kwon do competition in Vancouver, Wash., on April 25, with each taking home a medal.
John Golbeck won the green belt sparring title with teammate Bob Kaufman taking third.
Black belt competitor Craig Farenholtz took a bronze medal in sparring and teammate Jacob Mora, a blue belt, earned silver in patterns and bronze in sparring.
Other Bodystrong green belt athletes fared well, including Alexis Thill (gold in breaking, silver in patterns), Thomas Miano (gold medal in breaking, bronze in patterns), Samantha Smith (silver in patterns, bronze in sparring), James Stewart (silver medal in patterns) and Alex Janisse (bronze in patterns).
Aaron Russell, a Bodystrong yellow belt, took home a bronze in patterns and sparring, and then was named the High Kick event winner.
