While his teammates edge closer to district-meet qualifying times, Eric Prosser already has his ticket punched.

The Sequim sophomore earned a pair of district berths in Sequim’s 101-80 loss to Olympic on Dec. 20.

"It was a good meet for us with many of our athletes finishing with best times and good placing," Sequim coach Linda Moats said.

Prosser swam a 24.50-second 50 free and went 1:05 in the 100 backstroke for his postseason berths; both were first-place swims against Olympic, Sequim’s only non-diving victories.

Markus Petersen trimmed 14 seconds off his best 200 free finish while Matt Cays edged closer to a district berth in the 100 backstroke; his 1:15.17 finish is a little less than one second off a qualifying mark.

Steve Dewey is a half-second off a district-qualifying time in the 100 free after trimming three seconds off his previous best against the Trojans (58.41).

In his first try in the 100 breaststroke, Jerod Hollen posted a second-place finish of 1:18.90 — less than three seconds off a postseason berth.

Kiano Stoppani and David Vollenweider posted personal bests in the 200 individual medley while Vollenweider and Cays set personal bests in the 100 butterfly.

Sequim’s Jon Donahue competed in varsity diving for the first time and placed third; Cameron Harrison took top honors in the event while Austin Clement was second.

Craig Boekenoogen led Olympic with two individual wins (200 IM, 500 free) and victories in the 200 medley and 400 free relays.

The Wolves (0-3-1) host the Kingston Buccaneers on Jan. 10 and are at Port Angeles on Jan. 17.
