Sequim High junior Eric Prosser finished his 2013-2014 season among the best in the state, taking top-20 finishes in both 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke events at the state 2A meet in Federal Way on Feb. 21-22.
Prosser moved up one spot in the 200 IM despite a slower time (2:18.69) than his best (2:17.07), from 21st place to 20th place.
Prosser echoed his finish in the 100 back, posting a 1:03.11 time compared with his 1:02.24 seeding time, for a 20th place finish.
“Eric looked good in practice all week and his times were great … but I think his nerves got the better of him,” Sequim coach Linda Moats said.
“We were disappointed, but he still placed 20th in both events in 2A over the entire state and we are proud of that,” Noats said. “He’ll do better next year, I’m sure of it.”
