Boys tennis: Wolves edge Bucs, 4-3

Sequim stays undefeated in league play

It isn’t easy getting to the top of this league.

Sequim’s Wolves passed a second big test in their 2012 campaign, knocking off league power Kingston 4-3 at home on Sept. 24.

Sequim (4-0 in Olympic League play) swept all three singles matches and got a win in No. 4 doubles play from Jerry Bryan and Nick Johnston to clinch the match.

Donovan Lee earned a three-set win against the Buc’s top singles player, Tyler Shuey (6-3, 3-6, 6-3). Sequim’s Matthew Richards and Victor Lam had straight-set singles wins as well.

Sequim was scheduled to host Bremerton on Oct. 1 and Chimacum on Oct. 3.

The Wolves wrap up their Olympic League schedule Oct. 5 at Port Angeles.

Sequim plays at the Olympic League tournament on Oct. 10, hosted by Port Angeles.
