Boys Tennis: Wolves take down the Eagles

Sequim’s boys tennis team (2-0 league, 3-1 overall) defeated Klahowya (1-2, 1-3) at home last Wednesday, Sept. 25, for the only matchup of their week.

The doubles teams continue to look strong as No. 1 teammates Brandon Payne and Matthew Richards defeated Jacob and Ryan Gotchall 6-6 (7-1), 6-1, while Kevin Cassal and Nick Johnston won 6-4, 6-4, over Tim Larson and Alex Roberts. Wolves doubles players Stephen Prorok and Henry He also defeated Cameron Dammeyer and Nate Hough 6-1, 6-2.

Jerry Bryan took home the only singles win for the Wolves 6-2, 6-2 over Forrest Brockett.

Eli Berg, Wesley Gilchrist and doubles team Saul Nava and Victor Lam lost their matches.

Sequim’s match against Port Angeles (1-0, 4-0), slated for Sept. 23, was rescheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 23, and their match against Olympic (1-1, 2-2) on Sept. 27 was rescheduled to Oct. 8 at the Kitsap Fairgrounds.

Barring rain, the Wolves traveled to North Kitsap on Sept. 30, Port Angeles on Oct. 1. They host North Mason on Oct. 2 and travel to Kingston on Friday, Oct. 4.
