Sequim’s Garrett Little stayed undefeated for the season with a big win at No. 1 singles, but a deep Port Angeles team proved to be too much in a 6-1 win at PA on Sept.21.
The loss evened the Wolves’ record for the season at 4-4.
Little dominated in a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Nathan Based, improving to 7-0. But PA’s Matthew Miller topped Jack Crecelius 6-1, 6-3 and C.J. Elliot topped Mason Rapelje, 6-4 and 6-2.
In No. 1 doubles action, Tate Alton and Luke Flodstrom topped Sequim’s William Hughes and Tom Laschet 7-5, 6-1.
Earlier in the week, Olympic won the matches on the court, but a depleted Trojan team had to forfeit two doubles games in a 4-3 loss to host Sequim on Sept. 19.
The Wolves won two of the five matches held — both singles games — as Little dominated in his No. 1 singles match with Ryan Flatley, winning 6-0 and 6-0, while Sebastian Buhrer won at No. 3 singles, 6-1 and 6-1, over Sam Lewis.
Sequim routed another roster-depleted team the following day, knocking off East Jefferson 5-0 — with two matches forfeited.
In singles play, Little upended East Jefferson ace Reid Martin 6-4, 6-4, while Crecelius topped Spencer Fordham 6-1, 6-3.
Hughes and Laschet won at No. 1 doubles, a 6-1, 6-1 win over Roscoe and Trevor Barry, while Lincoln Bear and Hunter Tennell topped Sawyer Duval and Nicho McCracken 6-0 and 6-1. In No. 3 doubles play, Buhrer and Isaac McKeen combined to shut out Tristan Beebe and Jack Cole (6-0, 6-0).
Sequim was scheduled to host Bainbridge on Sept. 25; results were not available at press time.
