The accolades just keep coming for Sequim High School ace pitcher Tanner Rhodefer.
The recent SHS graduate was among several local prep players to be named to the Washington State Baseball Coaches Association’s All-State teams on June 18.
Rhodefer was named to the class 2A all-state second team after posting a 5-4 and leading the Wolves with a 2.63 earned-run average (per seven innings) and 64 strikeouts, working 61-and-a-third innings — more than double any other Sequim pitcher.
Rhodefer, who also was named an all-Olympic League first team pitcher and was SHS’s second-leading hitter (.386 average), pitched Sequim to a win in the West Central District Tournament, helping the squad to the class 2A state tourney.
Other Olympic League players named all-state players were North Kitsap pitcher Andrew Hecker, NK outfielder T.J. Jensen and North Mason pitcher/infielder Daniel Burggraaf (2A first team), NK catcher Connor Green (2A second team) and Klahowya pitcher Jacob Gotchall (1A/B first team).
