A deep Sequim middle school boys cross country team dominated during the 2021 season in regular meets, and capped it off with a league championship title run on Oct. 20 in Port Angeles.
Eighth-grader Colin Feik and seventh-grade Bjorn Henrikson finished 2-3 as the Timberwolves racked up 29 team points, out-pacing Port Townsend’s Blue Heron (44) and Port Angeles’ Stevens (56).
Feik finished the 2-mile course in 12:36 and Henrikson in 12:47, behind medalist Grady White of Blue Heron (12:36).
Sequim’s Trevor Goff placed sixth (13:20), Owen Rabey was seventh (13:44), Easton Sisemore finished 11th (14:20), Reid Randall was 12th (14:35) and Miles Noia was 14th (14:37).
Sequim’s girls, who didn’t have enough runners to score, were led by eighth-grader Kiley Winter who finished sixth in 14:47, followed by Birgdet “Burdie” Pyeatt in 12th (16:07), Ahrya Klinger in 16th (17:48) and Ava Shinkle in 20th (19:11).
Leia Larson of Stevens cruised to a win as the Port Angeles school tallied 17 team points to easily out-paced Blue Heron (39).
