As Sequim’s bats go, so goes the team.

The Wolves saw their offense go cold in a 9-1 loss to Olympic on April 18. Kiki Mitchel paced the Trojan offense with three hits.

Shelby Jones had two hits for Sequim but took the loss on the mound.

The Wolves rebounded in fine fashion with a 13-0 win on April 21 at North Mason.

Sequim got things going early, scoring three in the first with hits from Chloie Sparks and Jordan Bentz, followed by an error on a hit by Adrienne Haggerty.

The Wolves’ bats broke the game open in the fourth and fifth innings scoring 10 more runs to cut short the game via the mercy rule.

Raelynn Opdyke hit her first home run in the fifth inning and led the Wolves with two hits; Bentz and Sparks had two hits each as well.

Sequim starter Isabelle Dennis gave up only two hits for the shutout win.

Sequim was slated to host Chimacum on April 24 — results were not available at press time.

Thanks to early-season rain-outs, the Wolves get the first of six consecutive road games when they take on rival — and league leader — Port Angeles on April 26.

The Wolves then play at Kingston on April 28, North Kitsap in a Saturday special on April 29, Bremerton on May 1, Coupeville on May 4 and Olympic on May 8.

Sequim caps the regular season with a non-league home game against Coupeville.

The West Central District tourney is set for May 19-20 at Sprinker Fields in Tacoma.
