Sequim’s Wolves dropped their first two games of the regular season last week, falling at home to North Kitsap on March 30 and on the road against North Mason a day later.
Against the Vikings, Sequim went up 6-2 after the first two innings as Addie Smith, Mia Pozernick and Katelyn Glass all tallied RBI hits for the Wolves.
But Sequim couldn’t hold the lead and were unable to produce any runs against Vikings pitcher Makenzie Stockman, who struck out nine and walked three.
The Wolves’ bats came alive on March 31 at North Mason; however, despite a barrage of hits (18) Sequim couldn’t get the clutch hits they needed in a 5-3 loss.
Glass, Smith, Hannah Bates, Christy Grubb and Lilly Fili each had three hits, and Pozernick had a home run in the loss. Smith added two steals.
Sequim’s Angel Wagner struck out three and allowed just one run in four innings of relief.
Bulldog starter Tuesday Palmer allowed 20 Wolves to reach base but struck out 11 in the complete game victory.
