Sequim edges Crosspoint

A Besand put-back off a missed shot helped Sequim’s girls basketball squad break into the win column on Dec. 7.

Besand scored 17 points — including a three-point-play that proved to be the winner — and added 19 rebounds as Sequim got by 2B Crosspoint Academy of Bremerton, 38-34, on Dec. 7.

Elise Beuke and Caitlin Stofferahn had six points each in the win for Sequim (0-2 in Olympic League, 1-3 overall).

Sophomore Deserée Doty, daughter of former Sequim High prep sports great Derrin Doty, led Crosspoint with 20 points.
