By the time Maeve Harris knotted the score at 3-3, Sequim had all the momentum to go along with the home field advantage.

But Olympic’s Gabby Tyner scored with three minutes remaining in overtime to give the visiting Trojans a 4-3 victory on Oct. 11, spoiling Sequim’s dramatic comeback and a second league victory.

Anna Gentile gave Olympic a 1-0 lead midway through the first half but Sequim’s Harris set up Leslie Cisneros for a score just two minutes later. Tyler gave the Trojans a 2-1 lead just before halftime on Justice Diaz’s second assist of the half.

Olympic went up 3-1 when Ally Galeski scored.

Cisneros cut the lead to 3-2 with a score off a 35-yard free kick.

With six minutes remaining in regulation, Vianey Cadenas set up Harris for the equalizer.

The final was a vast improvement for Sequim from an earlier match-up that saw Olympic crush the Wolves 6-0 in Silverdale. Olympic had won the previous 10 match-ups, out-scoring the Wolves 68-3 since 2006.

Olympic also won the junior varsity game, 4-1, with Sequim’s lone score coming from Heidi Vereide and an assist from Natalie Moyer.

The Wolves were slated to play at Port Townsend today, Oct. 16.

Sequim hosts Bremerton on Oct. 18, before finishing the regular season with a match-up with rival Port Angeles on Oct. 23.
