The Port Townsend Redhawks outpaced the Lady Wolves swim/dive team at at SARC in a 123-64 loss on Oct. 9.
The final home meet on the season saw a few girls qualify for districts in different events, others achieve personal records and a few inch closer to state qualifying times.
Three Wolves individuals/teams took first with Dani Barrow winning the 200 IM at 2:33.42, Sydnee Linnane the 100 backstroke at 1:09.77 and the 400 free relay team (4:43.73) of Barrow, Linnane, Jaycee Thompson-Porrazzo and Victoria Fitzpatrick.
All of the girls qualified for districts in these events earlier in the season while Linnane continues to improve her backstroke time. She is about three seconds from a state qualifying time. Barrow also qualified for backstroke at districts placing third (1:16.95). She took first in the 200 IM (2:33.42) while Jessica Craig qualified for districts in the 100 IM placing fourth (2:48.03).
The 200 medley team of Craig, Linnane, Barrow and Fitzpatrick finished second at 2:19.30, a district’s qualifying time.
Kayley Lofstrom took second in the 50 free at 31.55, which is two seconds off district’s qualifying, and diver Emily Van Dyken placed second in diving (165.70). Annabelle Armstrong was the only third place contestant for Sequim after finishing the 100 fly in 1:24.47, which is four seconds from qualifying for districts.
For the Redhawks, Tanner Matthew finished first in the 200 medley relay (2:08.22), 50 free (27.83) and the 200 free relay (2:12.83). Rose Ridder finished first in diving (182.80) and with the medley relay while Ismay Gale took first in the 100 free (1:04.30) and the 200 freestyle relay (2:12.83).
The Wolves travel to Olympic High School this Thursday, Oct. 16.
