Girls swim/dive: Riders overturn Wolves

Wolves continue to knock their times down in a quest for districts despite a 117-55 home loss on Oct. 2 to Port Angeles.

Senior Dani Barrow swam another districts-qualifying event this time in the 500 free swimming 6:06.31 to take first. She and freshman Sydney Linnane were the only Wolves to win their events with Linnane winning the 100 yard backstroke ( 1:10.49, four seconds off of a state qualifying time).

Barrow, Linnane, Victoria Fitzpatrick and Jessica Craig took second in the 200 free relay (2:02.26) and  in the 400 free relay (4:42.12).

Linnane also took second in the 50 free at 29.52 seconds and is 0.12 seconds from a districts time.

Linnane finished just behind Port Angeles’ Hailey Scott at 28.49.

Five Wolves placed third in their events: Barrow in the 200 freestyle at 2:19.37, Craig in the 200 IM at 2:49.99 and was less than 1 second off the district time, Annabelle Armstrong in the 100 butterfly at 1:24.44, which was four seconds off of the districts time, Fitzpatrick 1:10.35 in the 100 free, four seconds off of districts, and Carmen Wilwert in the 100 breaststroke at 1:37.60.

For the Roughriders, Carter Juskevich finished first in three events – 100 free (59.24), 200 free (2:06.28), and as part of the 400 free relay (4:05.49).  Lum Fu finished first in three events including two relays and the 200 IM (2:32.61).
