Girls swimming/diving: Visiting Redskins splash Wolves

Even in the friendly confines of their own pool, the change of venue didn’t help Sequim get past Port Townsend last week.

The visiting Redskins took first in all but one event as they swept past Sequim 107-42 on Sept. 25.

Keira Matkins and Olivia Creameans won two individual events each in the Olympic League meet held in Sequim, after a Sept. 20 date in the smaller Port Townsend pool was postponed and moved.

Sequim’s lone win came in diving, as Alli Thill and Bethanie Davis went unchallenged.

The Wolves did get strong swims from Cassandra Calderon, who was second in the 200 IM and third in the 100 free, and third-place swims from Kelsey McDonald (500 free) and Kayley Lofstrom (50 free).

The Wolves host North Kitsap on Oct. 4 and are at Bremerton on Oct. 11.
