The Lady Wolves tennis team is off to a strong start with two early team wins.
On March 18, they defeated North Mason 6-1 at home and overcame some close matches to beat North Kitsap away 4-3 on March 20.
At home, Sequim’s singles and doubles teams looked strong with Hannah Gauthun taking the No. 1 singles spot with a win 6-2, 6-0 over the Bulldogs’ Rachel Wilson.
Sequim’s Heidi Stallman won 6-1, 6-1 over Nicole Settlemeyer and Maggie Christie nearly shutout Rachel Sandel 6-0, 6-1.
The Wolves’ No. 1 doubles team Melanie Guan and Karen Chan won 6-0, 6-1 over Danielle Busch and Savannah Overlob.
Sequim head coach Justine Wagner switched things up against the Vikings placing Guan and Chan as the No. 1 and No. 2 singles players.
Guan defeated Amanda Turley 6-1, 6-0, while Chan won 6-1, 6-0 over Mekdes Crowley.
Gauthun, playing No. 3 varsity singles, recovered after a 6-3 first set loss to win her next two 6-4, 6-1 over Louisa Boussa.
Heidi Stallman and Maggie Christie paired together to win Sequim’s only doubles match 6-4, 6-3.
The Wolves traveled to Bremerton on Tuesday and host Port Angeles on Thursday, March 27.
