Girls tennis: Wolves shut out Olympic, improve to 8-4 on season

Sequim’s girls tennis team routed Olympic 7-0 on the road on April 22, with singles players Calleigh Thompson, Tiffany Lam and Amara Gonzales earning wins over Trojans Nya Shride, Chelsea Barber and Leah Brashear, each in straight sets.

It was the lone match of the week for the Wolves (8-4), who saw a match with rival Port Angeles postponed because of rain.

Against Olympic, SHS’s Kendall Day and Sydney Thomas-Harris survived a three-set win (6-0, 2-6, 6-1) against Olympic’s Hannah Geron and Lola Ramirez at No. 2 doubles.

Sequim’s No. 3 doubles team of Azlynn Judd and Keira Morey, and No. 4 team of Kristine Prorok and Sasha Yada also had straight set wins.
