Cedars golf hosts youth summer camps

The Cedars at Dungeness, 1965 Woodcock Road, is home to golf camps for youths from July 27-29.

One camp is for youngsters ages 5-9; the other, for youths 10 to 16 years of age. Instruction focusing on putting, chipping, full swings and etiquette.

Cost is $80; fee includes instruction, range balls, pizza party, awards, snacks and a gift. Space is limited to the first 45 registrants in each camp.

‘Knights’ golf

tourney scheduled

The Bob Taylor, Knights of Columbus Memorial Golf Tournament is slated for a noon start on Saturday,

Aug. 1, at SunLand Golf & Country Club, 109 Hilltop Drive.

Proceeds go to local community charities including St. Vincent De Paul and Queen of Angeles School.

The tourney is a two-person best-ball event with Calloway and handicap divisions. Cost is $25 for SunLand members, $55 for nonmembers. Field is limited to 100 golfers (50 teams). Power carts are available for $27.

Crab, Crabette

tournament set

The 36th annual Crab & Crabette Mixed Chapman golf tournament is scheduled for Aug. 8-9 at The Cedars at Dungeness, 1965 Woodcock Road.

Entry is $260 per couple. The tourney features prizes totalling more than $3,500.

The format is a 36-hole mixed Chapman with gross and net prizes available.

Special events include a putting contest, team KPs each day, horse race and daily honey pots.
