Emily Van Dyken and Clarissa Preston led the Klahhane Intermediate Recreational Optional Team to an eighth-place finish at the Western Washington Recreational Optional State Invitational in Redmond on March 5.
Competing in the 13-year-old age group, Van Dyken took fourth in floor exercise, seventh on uneven bars and eighth on vault, finishing 10th in all-around scoring with 31.75 points.
Preston, who competed in the 12-year-old division, also placed 10th overall with 31.225 points. She took eighth on vault and 11th on both uneven bars and balance beam.
Also competing in the 12-year-old age group were Alexis Hefton and Payton Harding, taking seventh and 13th, respectively, on vault.
In the 9-year-old competition, Peyton Hefton took 10th on balance beam while Sydney Miner, competing in the 10-year-old age group, finished 10th on uneven bars.
Adare McMinn and Lillian Oden led the 11-year-old age group, taking 11th and 14th place on vault. McMinn finished 10th on floor exercise.
Also competing in the 11-year-old age group were Saige Hefton and Nikki Price.
