Men’s basketball: Pirates knock off visiting Knights

Home, sweet home.

Kevin Baker led five Pirates in double figures with 21 points as Peninsula routed Wenatchee Valley in Port Angeles on Dec. 10.

PC made the most of the visiting Knights’ sloppy play, turning 17 turnovers into 21 points.

Darrion Daniels and Alex Baham each had 15 points while Trent Warren and Cole Rabedeaux had 12 apiece. Baham’s points came on 5-of-7 shooting from 3-point range. Warren added eight rebounds and five assists. Jalen McCullough led all players with six assists.

Justin Martin led the Knights with 18 points.

The Pirates travel to Des Moines for the Highline Crossover set for Dec. 16-18. On Dec. 16, PC gets host Highline, then Yakima Valley on Dec. 17 and finally Chemeketa on Dec. 18.

The Pirates get a rematch with Elite Prep, a group of top all-star high school players from Bellevue, at home on Jan. 3; Elite Prep edged PC 68-64 on Nov. 27. Peninsula is at Tacoma on Jan. 7 before kicking off conference play Jan. 11 at No. 8-ranked Shoreline.
