Port Angeles High School freshmen Nathan Mishler and Daniel Weaver led a crew of nine athletes from the Olympic Peninsula Rowing Association (OPRA) competing in 10 events at the US Rowing Northwest Youth Championships May 20-22 in Vancouver.
Mishler and Weaver placed third in the finals of the Men’s Varsity Double division to take a bronze medal.
The regatta was attended by 28 rowing clubs throughout the Northwest.
“Our athletes rowed well in very competitive events posting some personal records and strong finishes in very difficult rowing conditions,” OPRA’s John Halberg said.
