Fighting is no way to solve anything – except a boxing match.
Next Saturday, peninsula boxing fans get treated to a full slate of 20 matches, including several local fighters, at Olympic Skate Center, 707 S. Chase St., in Port Angeles.
Sequim High grad Brett Cain, 18, fights at 145 pounds against Adrian Brag from Thurston County while 24-year-old Andrew Heuett, a police officer in Port Angeles, takes on Chris Bush of Bremerton at 170 pounds.
Ozzy Swaggerty, a student at Stevens Middle School, is the youngest local fighter on the bill. At 13 years old and 90 pounds, he challenges Angel Garcia from Seamar Boxing Club in Seattle.
The event, a USA Boxing sanctioned amateur boxing show put on by Jesús Solís of Sequim’s North Olympic Boxing Club, features boxers from teams from California, Canada and across the Puget Sound area.
The show doors open at 1 p.m.; matches begin at 2 p.m.
Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for youths of ages 8-17. Those younger than 8 are free but must be accompanied by an adult.
