The Wolves posted an impressive week — but it may not be enough to extend their season.

Sequim’s girls (3-10 in Olympic League play, 5-12 overall) won two of three games last week, but need wins against the league’s top three teams and some help to advance to the postseason.

After dropping Klahowya and North Mason in back-to-back games, the Wolves dropped a 62-36 decision at North Kitsap in Poulsbo on Jan. 27.

Rebekah Baugh led the Vikings with 10 points, six assists and two blocks as North Kitsap held a 37-18 lead by halftime and cruised to the win.

Columbia Haupt led Sequim with eight points while Haleigh Harrison added six in defeat.

The Wolves play at league-leading Kingston on Feb. 3. Sequim then has back-to-back games, playing at Bremerton on Monday, Feb. 6, and finishing the regular season the next night at home against peninsula rival Port Angeles.

Sequim drops North Mason

What a difference a half makes.

After falling behind to a team with no league wins, Sequim rebounded by overwhelming North Mason with huge third and fourth quarters to top the Bulldogs 44-30 on Jan. 25 in Belfair.

Alexas Besand led all scorers with 17 points, the only player in double figures. Demiree Briones and Emily Wallner chipped in with four points each for Sequim.

North Mason had a 12-11 lead at halftime but Sequim responded with a 17-6 third quarter.

Julie Johnson led the Bulldog attack with nine points.

Wolves clip Eagles’ wings

Sequim’s girls saw Klahowya take an 11-point lead in the first quarter, then proceeded to outscore the Eagles 36-20 over the next three quarters on the way to a 42-37 victory on Jan. 24 in Sequim.

Taylor Balkan scored 13 points and Besand chipped in with eight points as the Wolves avenged a loss to the Eagles earlier this season.

Annie Lever led Klahowya with 13 points.
