Hannah Hudson is busy with her track and field season, but she’s already got her near future set on the volleyball court.
Hudson, a sophomore at Olympic College in Bremerton, is one of several new recruits joining the Menlo College Oaks in Atherton, Calif., next fall.
Menlo College is a small, private, nonprofit Silicon Valley school that focuses on business education and liberal arts.
Hudson transfers to the Oaks after a pair of successful seasons at Olympic. A 5-foot 5-inch libero, she was a two-year starter for the Rangers, earning a number of awards for her efforts including the All-Tournament team at the Bellevue Crossover as a freshman. As a sophomore last fall, Hudson earned an NWAC Player of the Week nod, a spot on the Sophomore Showcase Team, was an All-American nominee and was named the team’s MVP. In two seasons at Olympic, she totaled 926 digs and 94 aces.
“I was a bit surprised to see Hannah was still uncommitted when I first contacted her as she is a solid force in the back row for any team, and her speed and efficiency on the court is unparalleled,” Oaks’ head coach Atlee Frechette said. “She will compete for a starting role this fall and I look forward to her improving from her already impressive career at Olympic.”
