In a blur, Tyler Ebert scored his first goal of the season in quick fashion.

The freshman scored one minute into overtime Tuesday night to give the Wolves a 1-0 win over visiting North Mason Bulldogs (5-10, 14 points) and a hold on third place.

Brasher said for the Wolves (9-5, 29 points) to stay in third place they’ll need to have won two of the their last three, including this victory. They next travel to play the Olympic Trojans (9-5 in league, 26 points) on Thursday and stay home for second place North Kitsap (12-2, 36 points) on Monday, May 6.

If Sequim stays in third, they’ll tentatively play a “home” game at 11 a.m. in Silverdale on May 11, and if they take fourth, they’ll play at the same day and time at Foster High School.

Ebert said scoring the goal was great experience.

“It feels like winning first in a tournament,” he said. “I have a lot of adrenaline going through me.”

When receiving the pass from Nick Baird, Ebert said he had in it his mind that he better make it or as a freshman he’d get a lot of grief for missing it.

“I’m definitely going to look to score another one on Thursday,” he said.
