Run with the ‘rain-deer’
The Port Angeles Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a Rain-Deer Fun Run/Walk, starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20.
The 5- and 10k run/walk starts at the City Pier and follows the Waterfront Trail on an out-and-back course.
Pre-registered participants receive a T-shirt and antlers. Prizes are awarded for the best costumes.
Cost is $23 per person, $11 for 18 and younger.

Local anglers discuss sport fishing
The Puget Sound Anglers-North Olympic Peninsula Chapter’s monthly meeting is set for 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 Blake Ave., Sequim.
The featured speaker is Bob Kratzer of Angler’s Guide Service in Forks. Kratzer will talk about the Northwest Olympic Peninsula Sportfishing Coalition which works to promote sport fishing as a priority contributor to the Northwest Olympic Peninsula and Washington economy. The coalition serves as a platform for local businesses and sport fishermen to advocate for a more strategic approach, including conservation, to manage area fishery resources for the long-term economic benefit of this rural area.

Indoor soccer league set
Sequim’s second annual Indoor Soccer League starts in January, with three age divisions: U10-U11, U12-U15 and adults U16-plus.
Games are on Sundays (Jan. 11, 18 and 25, and Feb. 1, 8, 15, 22) at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St.
Start times are 1 p.m. with youth games, ending with adult games at 5 p.m.
Cost is $25 per player for the season
