Little League hosts clinics
On April 4, the Sequim Little League hosts a free girls fastpitch clinic at the Little League fields (James Standard Park, 124 W. Silberhorn Road) from 1-4 p.m.
Also on April 4, James Standard Park is the site of a free umpire clinic from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. For more information about the umpire clinic, contact Randy Perry at 360-710-9964 or by e-mail, sequimmariners@peoplepc.com.

Spring doubles tennis league set
The Peninsula Tennis Club’s annual spring mixed doubles league is scheduled to start April 11 and run for four consecutive Saturdays, barring rain.
Times are 10-11:30 a.m. and play is at Erickson Park’s tennis courts in Port Angeles. Mixed doubles teams will be grouped according to ability play matches in a no-elimination tournament format. Each team will have at least three and possibly four matches scheduled during the season.
Cost is $10 for club members, $15 for nonmembers. Registration deadline is March 31. Call Christy Brown at 417-6724 or Wendy Drake at 457-1522.
SARC hosts ‘Piloga’ classes
Beginning April 4, the Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center offers a new exercise class called "Piloga" each Saturday morning from 10:15-11:15 a.m.
The class is a fusion of yoga and pilates that focuses on strengthening one’s core while improving flexibility and balance.
The class is designed for all levels and abilities.
The class meets at the SARC building, 610 N. Fifth Ave.
Cost per month is $11 for passholders and $41 for nonpassholders. The nonpass holder price includes the use of the facility before and after class. Drop-ins are welcome. Call 683-3344, ex. 16 or stop by the front desk.
Generation Gap, Underdogs take volleyball titles
The first Four-Leaf Clover Coed Fours Volleyball Tournament in Port Angeles March 14 saw 22 teams from across Western Washington compete at Peninsula College and Lower Elwha gymnasiums.
The team Generation Gap topped Oly Team (Olympia) 25-20, 25-16 in the championship match of the A/AA division. Generation Gap members include Brian Marts of Sequim, Kevin Marts of Longview, Matt Leicester of Woodinville, Michelle Watts of Seattle and Callie Wesson of Seattle.
Third place was Mix & Match of Sequim/Port Angeles and Oh Yessa of Gig Harbor (tie). Fifth place was a tie between Olympic Medical Center (Sequim/P.A.), Fifth Avenue Furniture (Sequim), Halberg Hooligans (Port Angeles) and Opie’s Team (Bremerton).
The Underdogs of Port Angeles topped The Other Ones (Port Townsend) in three sets in the championship of the B/BB division, 18-25, 26-24 and 28-26.
The Underdogs included Dan Swanson, Whitney Horton, Pat Fudally and Meggie Maegerle. The Other Ones included Port Townsend resident Jen Tavares, Larry Grobe and Mike Story, and Willow Svien from Port Hadlock.
Third place went to the Junkies from Elwha and Bomb.com from Neah Bay.
Junior golf camp opens for spring break
SkyRidge Golf Course (7015 Old Olympic Highway) hosts a junior golf camp from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. March 30-April 1.
The camp is open to boys and girls of ages 6-15.
Cost is $50 per player, or $30 each for families registering two or more siblings.
Instruction is provided by SkyRidge staff members and includes most aspects of the game: grip, stance, posture, chipping, pitching, sand practice, putting, golf etiquette and rules of the game.
Snacks and drinks are provided each day, along with a camp T-shirt and group photo.
