Golf tourney raises nearly $3k for grads

Locals and high school players alike hit the greens for some green at the 2011 Golfing for Sequim High School Seniors tournament April 9.

The tourney, held at The Cedars at Dungeness on April 9, raised between $2,500 and $3,000 to help fund the high school’s graduation night party in June, party organizers said.

 

 

Anglers host bottom-fishing expert

The Puget Sound Anglers, North Olympic Chapter hosts Tom Burlingame at its meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 Blake Ave., Sequim.

Burlingame speaks about bottom fishing in Neah Bay and LaPush.

Wrestling challenge in P.A.

The Olympic Mountain Freestyle Challenge, an event for grapplers in pee

wee through junior divisions, is set for Saturday, April 23, at Port Angeles High School, 304 E. Park Ave.

Weigh-ins are 8-9 a.m. with wrestling beginning at 10 a.m. Awards go to the top three placers in each weight category; the top six receive T-shirts.

Explorers to walk Fort Flagler

The Olympic Peninsula Explorers invites the community to join them for a club walk, starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 23, at

Fort Flagler in Jefferson County.

Five- and 10-kilometer walks are scheduled.

A carpool from the Sequim area leaves QFC, 990 E. Washington St., at 8 a.m.
