Wright gets ace
Rob Wright of Sequim sank his first hole-in-one last week, getting the ace at The Cedars at Dungeness on July 23.
Wright used a 7-iron to drive the 156-yard hole No. 17 at The Cedars. Ron Despars and Larry Pulver witnessed the feat.
BMX changes schedule
The Port Angeles BMX group has added and changed some of its schedule.
Racers compete on Sunday Aug. 1, with sign-ups from noon-1 p.m.
The BMX group added a race date on Saturday, Aug. 28, with sign-ups from noon-1 p.m.
P.A. BMX hosts the annual Olympics races on Sunday, Aug. 29. Events include relay race, backwards race, pit bike race, scooter race, two-persons-on-a-bike race and bunny hop.
The event is free to all ABA members signed up to race that day. Prizes will be awarded.

Stingers seek baseball players
The Bremerton Stingers Baseball Club, an organization with baseball teams for players in several youth age divisions, host tryouts for teams in August.
The tryouts are 6-8 p.m. Aug. 17-19 at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds in Bremerton.
The Stingers field five teams next season in age divisions 12U, 13U, 14U, 15U and 17-18U.

Open volleyball is at Stevens
Volleyballers seeking a place to play this summer may want to check out play at Stevens Middle School, 1139 W. 14th St., Port Angeles.
An open gym is scheduled each Friday evening from 7-10 p.m.
Players only need to sign in on an entry sheet and contribute $1.
Cedars women’s club seeks players
The Women’s Club at The Cedars at Dungeness golf course is open to all female golfers to participate in weekly and special events at the course.
The group plays on Tuesday mornings with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. Weekly events run through October.
