Pirates host youth fastpitch clinic
Peninsula College’s softball coaches, players and guests host a fastpitch clinic Dec. 27 at the college gymnasium, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.
The clinic schedule is: 8:30-11 a.m., players 12 and younger; and 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., players 13 years old and older.
Cost is $30 for advanced registration or $40 at the door.

YMCA gymnastics
class scheduled
The Clallam County YMCA’s 10-week winter gymnastics program runs Jan. 5-March 13 for 1-year-olds through fifth-graders.
Youths learn gymnastics skills from experienced staff and also realize increased flexibility, endurance, strength and self-esteem in a fun and safe environment.
Class size is limited and advance registration is required.
Before Dec. 27, YMCA preschool members pay $60 for the session, and nonmembers pay $73. Ages 5 through fifth grade pay $70 (members) and $83 (nonmembers). After Dec. 27, the fee goes up $5 per class for all ages.
Students new to the program must register in person at the YMCA. Past participants can register by calling the YMCA at 452-924 with a debit or credit card.

Fun run/walk rescheduled
The Rain-Deer Fun Run/Walk 5k and 10k, scheduled for Dec. 20, is rescheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Port Angeles city pier after last week’s inclement weather. The course remains an out-and-back along the waterfront trail for both races.
Cost is $25 per person; cost includes race registration, an event T-shirt and refreshments.

Youth hoops program has registration spots open
Sequim Youth Basketball, a program for youths in grades 1-6, has spots remaining for players to join the league.

Costs are – grades three-six, $40; grades one-two, $30; maximum $100 per family (financial assistance available). Players receive a team shirt, weekly practice sessions (depending on gym availability) and six games.
Program officials hope to have teams set up and contacted the week following Christmas, Hill said.
