Bike adventure set for Sept. 26
The annual Olympic Bike Adventure, a fundraiser for several local civic groups, is slated for Sunday, Sept. 26.
The event includes metric century (100 kilometers),
25-mile and 10-mile family-friendly rides.
Cost is $50 per adult or $25 for youths 12 years old or younger. Cost includes a ride T-shirt, lunch and ride shuttles.
Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club Foundation of the Olympic Peninsula, Sequim Sunrise Rotary Club and Port Angeles Recreation Department.

Walk to Sol Duc Falls set
The Olympic Peninsula Explorers Volkssport Club is hosting a walk on Saturday, Aug. 14, to Sol Duc Falls.
The group meets at 9 a.m. at the Fairmount Restaurant, 1127 Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles. A carpool meets at the
Sequim QFC (990 E. Washington St.) at 8:30 a.m.
The trail is not suitable for wheelchairs, strollers or baby joggers. No pets are allowed. There are restrooms along the route.

Anglers talk Newton’s Cove
The Puget Sound Anglers, North Olympic Peninsula Chapter, host a presentation by club members Tom Duttrey, Dave Croonquist and others, who made a trip to Newton’s Cove in Esperanza Inlet. Stingers seek baseball players
The Bremerton Stingers Baseball Club, an organization with baseball teams for players in several youth age divisions, host tryouts for teams in August.
The tryouts are 6-8 p.m. Aug. 17-19 at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds in Bremerton.
Players are required to attend a minimum of two tryout sessions to be considered for a team. Players must check in with a parent and a copy of player’s certified birth certificate; check-in begins at 5:30 p.m. each day.
The Stingers field five teams next season in age divisions 12U, 13U, 14U, 15U and 17-18U. The Stingers have ball players from Sequim, Chimacum and Port Angeles on teams now.

Volleyballers seeking a place to play this summer may want to check out play at Stevens Middle School, 1139 W. 14th St., Port Angeles.
An open gym is scheduled each Friday evening from 7-
10 p.m.
