Golf tournament to help fund SHS softball squad

The Golf for Softball tournament, a fundraiser for Sequim High School’s softball/fastpitch program, is set for a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at SkyRidge Golf Course, 7015 Old Olympic Highway.

Cost is $50 per person. Fee includes 18 holes of golf, range balls and lunch. Carts are $15 per seat.

The tourney has a 20-team maximum.

Funds raised help pay for SHS softball equipment, tournament fees and travel expenses.

Demonstration day set at The Cedars

The Cedars at Dungeness hosts its first product demo day for 2017, from noon-4 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, at the course, 1965 Woodcock Road.

Downhill bike racing series on tap

Registration is underway for the first two rounds of the NW Cup, a popular downhill mountain bike racing series.

Races will be held on the downhill bike trails at Dry Hill just west of Port Angeles the weekend of April 14-16, and for the Pro Gravity Tour’s Second Round the weekend of May 12-14.
