Senior Babe Ruth tryouts slated

The Senior Babe Ruth team Wilder Baseball Club hosts tryouts for 16- to 18-year-old baseball players. Tryouts are May 19-20 at 6 p.m. at Port Angeles’ Civic Field. For more information, e-mail wilderbaseball@gmail.com.

Sequim pros compete at U.S. Open qualifier

Sequim golf professionals Tyler Sweet (Sunland Golf & Country Club) tied for 86th and Bill Shea (The Cedars at Dungeness) tied for 88th at the U.S. Open Local Qualifier at The Home Course in DuPont on Monday, May 11.

Anglers host Coast Guard guest

The Puget Sound Anglers – North Olympic Peninsula Chapter host its next meeting at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, May 21, with Brian Edmiston as guest speaker. Edmiston, the executive officer of Coast Guard Air Station/Sector Field Office in Port Angeles, will discuss Coast Guard search and rescue capabilities, local response assets, helicopter hoisting and recreational boating safety followed by a question and answer session.
