Paddlers to talk of big adventures
Hear from Jesse Wiegel as he spins yarns about two major races at the next Olympic Peninsula Paddlers meet set for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the Solana Clubhouse, 135 Solana Parkway.
Wiegel, who will present “Tales of Epic Paddling Races in the Salish Sea” to the club, is the race boss at Northwest Maritime in Port Townsend, responsible for Race to Alaska, SEVENTY48 and the new race, WA360.
Wiegel spent nearly a decade teaching maritime skills aboard traditional sailing vessels and as a lead instructor for Hurricane Island Outward Bound School in Maine before landing back home on the Olympic Peninsula.
