The team may be small, but they look to pack some punch.
Sequim’s boys swimming and diving program is 12 members strong this season, with five returning athletes looking to lead the Wolves to wins and postseason success.
Back is senior Eric Prosser, seeking his third consecutive state meet berth. He competed in the 100 backstroke and two relays as a sophomore and was 20th in both the 200 individual medley and 100 back as a junior last season.
Also back is junior Wendall Lorenzen, the Wolves’ captain in 2013-2014, and freestyler Christian Goodrich.
Sequim head coach Linda Moats said she expects those returning swimmers and newcomer Charlie Prosser to have a good shot at the postseason.
But the smallish squad probably won’t help n the win-loss department, Moats said, as the Wolves seek their first win since the 2010-2011 season (Sequim earned a tie in 2012-2013).
“We will probably suffer due to a small team, so our chances for wins is pretty small,” Moats said.
The Wolves start the season Thursday, Dec. 4, with a home meet against Kingston. Sequim is at Port Angeles on Dec. 11 and hosts Olympic on Dec. 18.
