Sequim Wolf Pack Youth Football offers a four-day football conditioning camp from 5-7 p.m. daily, July 28-31, at the Sequim Middle School fields, 301 W. Hendrickson Road.
The camp costs $25 and is open to all 6- to 13-year-olds (entering kindergarten through middle school grades). All registered receive a T-shirt.
The camp incorporates some conditioning and expands to football drills, positions and rudimentary plays. This camp is designed for potential football players to learn basic football, particularly if players are interested in signing up for the Sequim Wolf Pack regular season. Camp registration is prior to the camp starting at 4:30 p.m. Players should wear shorts, T-shirts and sneakers.
Additionally, those wishing to sign up for the 2014 Sequim Wolf Pack football or cheerleading season may do so any time during the camp. Forms are provided and board members will be available to help with registration.
The final registration for football and cheer is 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, with equipment issue following from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., both at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St. Participants who are completely pre-registered with fees paid are eligible to get their equipment issued early.
“By handing out some of the gear earlier, we’re hoping to save parents time at the equipment issue on Aug. 16 at the Boys & Girls Club,” equipment manager Phil Langston said.
For the fourth year, Sequim Wolf Pack, in conjunction with Pacific Primary Care, is providing sports physicals to all Sequim School District students for $20. The physicals are set for 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club.
The physicals are good for two years. Proceeds are split between Sequim Wolf Pack and the Sequim High Wolves Football programs. The physicals are available for any Sequim School District student and for any sport, not just football.
Sequim Wolf Pack football practices start at 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 18, with cheerleading practices starting Tuesday, Aug 19.
