Wolf Pack tops Neah Bay 32-0, takes title

The Sequim Wolf Pack Varsity Purple team beat Neah Bay 32-0 in the North Olympic Youth Football League Championship game on Saturday, Nov. 12, at Sequim High School.

The team of 19 boys and five coaches completed a perfect 9-0 season.

“I’m so proud of these young men — they’ve worked hard all season,” head coach Rex Lott said. “They’ve played strong and fast, and they’ve come together well as a team. Neah Bay was a very well coached adversary, and their kids are tough to beat. Our kids came out solid both on offense and defense and they should be proud of what they’ve accomplished. I appreciate their effort and work through the whole season as well as their parents’ dedication and support to the program. It took everyone involved to make this happen.”

Lott has coached most of the varsity purple players since moving to Sequim three years ago, and this is the first championship trophy that has come out of Sequim since then.

“I’m really proud of them,” Lott said. “It just goes to show that hard work pays off.”
