Sequim doubles teams won in straight sets while Ellen Cain and Hillary Smith split sets with Tina Dietz and Megan Gambill of Port Townsend, then won a 10-6 tiebreaker instead of playing a third set.

Earlier in the week,

Sequim (2-3) dropped a pair of matches to their league foes from the east.

On April 13, North Kitsap edged Sequim 4-3, taking three doubles matches and a singles match.

Hall had a straight-sets win against No. 1 Viking Stephanie Bird (6-1, 6-0) while Okamoto vanquished NK’s Ashton Asquith 6-2 and 6-4.

Katrina Chan and Stacy Hanson picked up Sequim’s other win, a three-set victory against Bryana Bohl and Kelsey Grunigen (3-6, 6-1, 7-6). But the Vikings’ depth proved to be too much, as they took the rest of the matches without losing another set.

A day later, Kingston flexed their tennis muscles in a 6-1 win.

Hall came away with Sequim’s lone victory, a 6-0, 6-1 win versus Buccaneer Corinne Sudduth (6-0, 6-1).

Chan and Hanson put up a strong fight in the No.1 doubles match, falling 6-4, 7-5 to Olivia Guevera and Maddi Miller.

The victory kept Kingston undefeated at 5-0 in league play.

The Wolves were scheduled to play at Bremerton on April 19 – results were unavailable at press time.

Sequim hosts rival Port Angeles on April 21, then travels to Silverdale for the squad’s next two matches: April 23 versus Olympic and April 29 versus Klahowya.
