Wolves still in playoff hunt

With two games left, Sequim’s Wolves need some points to make the postseason. They’ll have to get them on the road.

North Kitsap closed out the Wolves’ home schedule on a sour note, knocking off the home team 2-0 on April 26.

The league-leading Vikings got a first-half score from Garrett Wilder and a goal early in the second half from Raul DeLuna.

Sequim got its second league win of the season two days earlier in Port Townsend, routing the Redskins 3-1.

Diego Cisneros opened the scoring at 16 minutes off an assist from Waylon Lam. Five minutes later, Donovan Lee set up Lijah Sanford for a score and a 2-0 Sequim advantage. Lam made it 3-0 off a feed from Ryan Pinza early in the second half.

The Wolves (2-4 in league) were scheduled to play at Olympic in Silverdale on May 1 — results were not available at press time.

Sequim plays Kingston on May 3 to close the season.

The Wolves (2-4 in league, 4-8-2 overall) need to finish in the top five of 2A teams to advance to the postseason. They trail Olympic by a point for that fifth seed, and Klahowya by three points for the league’s fourth seed, heading into Tuesday night’s game.
